Osiris Therapeutics, Inc. has entered into an agreement with Genzyme Corporation for the development and commercialization of Prochymal and Chondrogen. Under the terms of the agreement, Osiris will commercialize Prochymal in the United States and Canada, and Genzyme will commercialize the therapies in all other countries.

Osiris also has a partnership with Genzyme to develop Prochymal as a medical countermeasure to nuclear terrorism and other radiological emergencies. The agreement provides for Genzyme to receive a royalty on sales of Prochymal, limited to those sales made under contract to U.S. or Allied Governmental Agencies for Emergency Preparedness.

Osiris joined JCR Pharmaceutical Corporation to produce and market Prochymal in Japan, if and when it becomes commercially available.

Osiris partnered with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) for the development of Prochymal as a treatment for patients with newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes mellitus.  Under the terms of the agreement, the JDRF has provided $4 million in funding to support the Phase II clinical trial activities.

In July 2008, Osiris sold the Osteocel business to NuVasive for $85 million.
